TWO NEW EAGLE SCOUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations to Henry Gehrling and Derek Veilleux for having there Eagle Court of Honor this past March.  You guys did a great job and we look forward to more camping and fun times with these newly marked men. Also on the Eagle front.  Zack and Andrew have applied for there Eagle Award and have both passed there District Board of Review.  They are almost there.  Now the Pine Tree Council and the National Boy Scout Office must approve there paperwork and they will officially become Eagle Scouts.  Lets make sure to wish them
luck.  GOOD LUCK GUYS!

Also on the Adult Newbee list is Kristin Spears and Lance Reny both of Monmouth.  Kristin is coming on board as our new Treasurer and Lance is coming on as a new ASM.  Lance unfortunately is being deployed to Iraq for a short tour of duty for our Country.  Good luck Lance we look forward to yours and George Gehrling's Safe return.

Up and coming stuff to think about.

April 7th, the Skowhegan Boy Scout Troop has invited us for there 9 oz Pine Wood Derby Race.  This is open to all Scouts and Leaders of Troop 433.  If you are interested please let me know and I will get more information to you.

April 9th, Roundtable.  The Monthly K-Valley District meeting.  All Adult Leaders and OA members are allowed to attend.  See me for more information.

April 12th, is the District Pine Wood Derby being hosted by Winslow Cub Scout Pack 445.  They are allowing us to help run the concessions stand as a fund raiser.....We need scouts to start signing up for time slots to work the booth.  This is a great way to make a lot of money for the troop and your personal scout account.

April 13th, is the Wyman Rd Clean up day.  10am-4pm.  Bring rakes, shovels, and hand saws.  Also bring a bag lunch.  We will be cleaning up and servicing the troop Campsite.  Make sure you come in work clothing and dress warm.  It could be cold or rainy.

April 16th, is the monthly "Spellbound" gaming day held at Spellbound gaming store Located at The Concourse in Waterville.  Games show up from 3-6pm I believe.  Make sure to check with Johnny or Ty as they are the Green Bars in charge of organizing this event.  It is a lot
of fun for all you gamers.

April 17th Scout Meeting.  The Maine Brain Injury Association and the Maine Bike Coalition will be coming in to talk about bike riding safety and maintaining your bike.  They may even fit you all for helmets if you need one.  So remember to bring in your bike if you are interested.

April 18th-April 20th, is the Wyman Rd Camping trip.  To be held at troop Camp site on the Wyman Rd.  It will be a fun time...if you have ideas for activities please let your PLs and your SPL know what you would like to do for activities.  Getting out there....some of you need your 5 mile hike and we will be having a group hike out to the campsite from the youth center.  Some of you have talked about bicycling up to the site and we can do that as well.

April 25th Tentatively is the date for the District Awards Banquet for the Adult Leaders of K-Valley Scouting.  All leaders are invited and encouraged to attend.  Please see me for more info.

April 27th, Green Bar Council Meeting.

Well that is about it for this month.  Keep in mind that next month (May) will be the Spring Rendezvous.  There will be a flyer coming out very soon from the K-Valley Planning board.  It will have tons of good ideas for going primitive.  So make sure to keep that in mind because April is the time to start planning for this huge event.

Summer camp!  Did someone say Summer Camp.  We will be attending Camp Roosevelt again this year and we will be getting some information out shortly on that.  Camp Roosevelt is located on Little Fitts Pond in East Eddington.  So keep your mid July Schedule open.  We are
targeting the week of July 13th - July 19th.  Lets hope we get that week. Summer camp is a great way for boys to learn new Scout Skills, take merit badges, make new friends from other parts of Maine and do tons of other cool things.

Well that concludes our news update for today...so make sure to tune
in to the same channel real soon for May information.                      =o)

Take care all.
Yours in Scouting
Chris
